So Mason went to school the other day and said to his teacher, "Guess what I had for lunch today. It starts with 'wuh'" She guessed all she could think of, "waffles, watermelon, white rice..." all this time Mason is laughing and laughing because she can't get it. She looks at him and says "your just going to have to tell me, I don't know." He looks at her and says, "I can't believe you can't guess it............... Wamen Noodles!" She said it was so cute and funny that she couldn't tell him it started with a r.

Fisher Towers
We decided to go to Grand Junction to visit Grandma and Grandpa Jacob on our way home from Moab. We ended up stopping at Fisher Towers along the way. One think the kids love the most about going to Moab is climbing and exploring all the cool rocks and trails. There was definitely lots to explore here. It was beautiful and of course a lot of fun. We all burned a lot of energy so everyone was nice the rest of the day.Aubrey loved being in the back pack. She smiled and giggled the whole time.
Gemini Bridges
We took the kids to check out Gemini Bridges. It was pretty cool and a little scary for a few. You were standing on arches with a really big drop. Luckily the kids were all a little bit chicken and didn't want to get too close to the edge. We love to explore the the amazing things our world has to offer.
Mark (the ring leader of fun) and all the kids heading down the trail. |
Aubrey was sleeping when we got there, but couldn't miss the fun for a nap! |
Standing on the bridge. The side that the picture was taken was a whole lot thinner. It freaked the kids out when they saw what they were standing on. |
We saw some crazy people walking on a slack line across the bridges. |
Sweet baby. It took her a while to wake up. |
All the kids |
And all the big kids! |
They find every little cave to climb in and rock to climb over. |
Mountain Biking
After the race the kids were set on mountain biking. We met up with the Mason's and took the kids to the Gemini Bridges road. It worked out so well, the kids road their bikes down with an adult chaperone and we followed them in the cars. It was still cold and windy but that never seems to stop the fun. Aubrey was able to get her nap while the boys road and everyone had a good time. The kids kept looking for anything they could jump off of and of course I had to take a picture of everything!

Mason was a little bummed because he couldn't ride with his cast on very well, but still managed to have a good time. |
Joe rode with the kids part of the time |
They all think they are pretty tought |
Chase got pretty good at the jumps |
A little vision of how it was done! |
They would have kept riding all night |

Moab Half Marathon
One of these days I will get smart and not run this race every year, but for some reason I just keep signing up for it. I guess I enjoy the pain. So, running into a head wind and trying to keep up with people that are faster than me didn't seem to work for me this time. I did really good for the first half and then had nothing left in the second. I finished in 2:08, not as fast as I wanted but it is what it is. I guess I have learned my lesson and should stick with slow and steady and not run into the wind!
The Vernal runners |
Just before the race started, there are so many people. |
Coming into the finish line with cheers coming from both sides. |
